The main reason why I chose the BMB program at the University of Chicago is the focus on structural biology within the department. It was also important for me to have access to a state-of-the-art, Advanced Electron Microscopy facility here, which makes my thesis work a lot easier. Beyond that, I have found the work environment in BMB to be very supportive and friendly. It is remarkable how easy it is to collaborate with other University of Chicago labs, and I know that whenever I need help or thesis advice, I can always find it.
