I chose to look into UChicago graduate programs at the recommendation of my undergraduate mentors, who knew my interests in studying biomolecular dynamics from a computational chemistry and biophysics perspective aligned with the work of several professors. After reading some BCMB papers, I came to the same conclusion and even found new interests that I hadn’t considered. I applied to the BMB program, which provided an avenue to all of these labs and offered an interesting set of courses. Then, I visited. I was floored by the beautiful campus and city. I clicked well during my interviews with several professors. I started to notice the great sense of community, fostered socially by the student-led events and academically by the frequent and interdisciplinary seminars. The atmosphere was intellectually stimulating, driven by curiosity and passion for good research, so I chose to attend.
