I became interested in biophysics after I graduated college, and I knew I wanted to pursue both biochemistry and biophysics in graduate school. The University of Chicago’s graduate program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics offered the kind of training I was looking for, with many exciting research labs across the umbrella program. What really sold me about BMB at the University of Chicago were the interactions I had with faculty, graduate students, and admins during the interview weekend. The environment is so welcoming, collaborative, and intellectually curious. I was able to find my dream PhD thesis project here, and outside of the lab I enjoy taking art classes and visiting Chicago’s fantastic museums.
